Humanities Texas website

The Humanities Texas website that I helped develop working for the great folks at Action Figure is finally live. It took awhile to devleop (as most websites do) and I'm glad that it's now live where people can see & use it. I think it's a great design that Kevin came up with - modern but down-to-earth, young but very functional, solid but also friendly & easy to read.

I learned a lot on this project - more CSS, XHTML, Dreamweaver, Contribute & some basic PHP code. It was the first big website I worked on and am grateful for the opportunity that Eric at Action Figure gave me. He's a great designer & developer. It was a pleasure working with him.

Humanities Texas does some great work too. They help connect people with good ideas for their communities & various projects with grant money to make it happen. If you have an idea for a project that would help people out in the community somehow, you should definitely check their website out. :)

a site for caffé medici

I finished a website for Caffé Medici, the Espresso & Coffee House of my friends Michael & Alison. I'm happy with it, and I think it serves their needs well. (They have some really good cappuccinos & lattes too!) The trickiest part was learning how to integrate a blogger engine into my CSS design ... but it was amazingly easy (the dynamic parts worked automatically on my server; I just had to tweak my design a little bit; it even helped me make some of the typographic decisions for the rest of the site). It took a little push to finish it, but I beat their baby out (who's due date is today). :) Enjoy. (I also designed their beautiful logo.)

architect website + sxsw

I finally finished a website for Michael Hsu Design Office. I designed the logo and website interface, shot some photography for the front page, and developed the whole site in CSS & HTML. I really like the way it came out. It was wonderful working with Michael since he already has such great design aesthetics. Check his environmental design/architecture work out. It's really good and all over Austin.
...
getting stirred on ideas for some more blogging ... I'm also going to SXSW Interactive for work next week ... so I'm getting excited about technology again (had a break for a few years) ... so I look forward to doing new things with my blog soon - new design, new stuff ... thanks for checking back

a site for a doctor

Hey, I know it's been awhile, but here's a site I just developed last week. I didn't design it, but it's my first professional site to be online. I'm pretty happy with it. The site was designed at Glide Design.

Ruthie Harper site

I'll probably be doing more web development (CSS, HTML, Dreamweaver, etc.) as well as some creative/design projects I'm making room for. soon ...

The Ringer in Theaters

A movie I worked on in the Fall of 2003 is finally out! =)
The Ringer

It stars Johnny Knoxville and was produced by the Farrelly Brothers.

I watched it the other night with my sister & mom. We all thought it was pretty good. Good humor, good story.
I didn't see myself as an extra in the movie, but my name was in the titles under Art Dept interns.

Go check it out. It's in theaters now. Let me know what you think.
Have a Happy New Years!

ART SHOW AT JP's JAVA

So here are photos from my art exhibit at JP's Java in Austin, TX.
It was my first fine art exhibit, except for one photo I had in a juried exhibit at SWT ... so it was pretty exciting. It was good to have a deadline & a reason to push me to produce some artwork from my heart. It was cool. I was a little over-ambitious the couple days before the exhibit was supposed to go up (I tried to do another painting, but it didn't work out). I was pretty happy with what I did produce & get framed though.

So here are some shots of the room:

Here are the photos I framed (all from my fine art photography class at Texas State Univ. a couple years ago):

That was also the order they were in, from right to left.

Here are a couple shots of my paintings. They don't do them full justice, but they give you an idea. You can also click the link below them to see/download a bigger version. (I tried to collage images where you could see more, but they still didn't come out like the real thing.)

"I love you Dad"

"I love you Mom"

All of the photographs are in 11x14 frames and the paintings are 32x40.
It was really fun. Maybe I'll do more of this in the future.

Let me know your thoughts.
